temporary relief from my agony...
18 MARCH
a much better morning... when i entered the office, the other staff who had arrived said 'hi'... then since the manager hasn't come, we chatted a little... when they know that i kind of got lost after work yesterday and anyhow t bus to MRT station, they gave me some suggestions... HAHA, i took about 1 hr and 45 minutes to reach home yesterday... LOLLL... i found that they were really fun people!
went for lunch with the colleagues and we chatted! i just felt so much better, at least there are people to talk to now...
learnt alot about how the company functions and more about the manager... it seems that all of then don't like the manager... and that many of them are leaving in a few weeks' time... the most senior staff in the office has only been around for about 10 months? something is definitely wrong around here... OMG! i feel like i've been put into some dangerous place...
when the other staff heard that we would be here for 7 months, all of their 1st reaction was 'GOOD LUCK TO U!' then say 'wah, sure die one. u better not make a mistake. the manager is really scary when he gets angry and we have seen him sack a few people because they made mistaks(s).'
did something different today though nothing interesting... was taught how to update associates profile one the website, edit BCMpedia, and checking the the list of words on the website are in alphabetical order, and updating the meanings of business continuity and disaster recovery terminologies...
lecturer darren came to visit! HAPPY! finally some familiar face...
he had a meeting with the manager, so once the manager went into the meeting room, the staff all started talking... the office atmosphere suddenly became less tense... wah! the staff are all big jokers ok... and we started joking and laughing at each other's action, stupidity, etc... suan-ing each other actually... LOLLLL
darren and the manager chat for about an hour plus... after that irene and I were given time to talk to darren privately in the room... we talked about some intern stuff and about the other ams students and their interns... darren could tell that i wasn't very happy... but of course! initially i didn't really like office job already, what's more one that get u to do the no-brainer job like copy and paste...
haha, after the talk ended, it's about 6pm, so darren asked the manager if we can leave already, then he can give us a lift back to tampines! WOOHOOO!!
anyway all that aside, i miss all of u girls!
i want to go back to school!

2nd day... continued the job from yesterday--copy and paste... am i going to do sai gang for the whole internship? say yes and i'm out of here!
u know how much copy and paste we do? so much that right in the morning when the manager entered the office and put down his bag, he told me 'i've asked someone to configure 2 shortcut buttons for u, 1 for copy and 1 for paste.' wah, thanks man...
irene is fast with the computer and copy and paste... i'm real slow... but no choice wor, 'fast' happens to be my worst enemy... what's more i'm multi-tasking ok... i was trying to hit flies as i type... the flies just keep haressing me! hey, but i don't stink ok, it's the office!
realised the atmosphere in the office is... ... not friendly? in the office, almost no one talks unless they have to discuss something... then lunch time... the manager stood up and asked 'Lunch anyone?' no one responded... then he asked again, then some just nod or use hand gesture to signal 'ok' or replied 'ya, ok... u go ahead first.'
then the manager offered to bring irene and I out to tiong baruh market to eat...
the manager seems to have taken a liking to her and said 'can i offer u a biscuit?' 'cause she looked so tired and sian from using the computer...

1st day of internship... arrived at my workplace and got a shock!
the building i thought was just old, i didn't know it's THAT OLD! it looks like a warehouse or an abandoned building -.-

into the office... WOW! 1 glance and u can see everyone... SMALL office... like around 8 people inside only?
in the meeting room, the manager told us overview of the company, what we are here for, etc... then asked about stuff like what we want as career, allowance, interest, etc... then introduce us to the other colleagues... thank god, there is another guy there for internship too, same age as us, from SP...
got assigned to a seat RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE MANAGER! stress~~~
there is no cubicle, nothing... manager and staff all in the common area.
the office, is DIRTY T_T
there is no pantry, there is only 1 electric flask for boiling water. but i don't dare to use it, it has tons of dried water marks on the outside, i can tell they haven't washed it for quite some time.
cram office, and messy!

new environment, no friends other than irene, feels a little depressed and stressed...
both of us went lunch together at the canteen downstairs... the food is edible but pretty bad tasting...
back to the office and sat at our table... soon the other staff came back together, then a while later the manager returned too.... realised that the manager went for lunch alone... weird...
zzz... sitting at the desk totally have no privacy... i was surfing the internet for bus route for a while 'cause i've completed the given task and he haven't assigned the next... then the manager saw my monitor and asked 'where do u want to go?' hello? give me some privacy and freedom man!
ok, given next task! MORE COPY AND PASTE...

bought 1 pair of high heels today~~~ hopes i can really wear them...
provided my expertise and thus someone got 2 shirt, 2 neckties and 1 pants today... what fruitful trip ya... i'm so efficient... LOLLL

once i woke up, i started calculating again. it's about money again of course...
this time is about the travelling cost to work/internship... zzz
if i were to buy the bus concession and take only bus to work...
in-vehicle time: 92 mins
cost: $52
if i buy the MRT concession and take a combination of MRT and bus...
in-vehicle time: 50 mins
cost: $76.24
wanted to ask the lecturers about my internship allowance, but they will sure tell u 'that's not the main thing u should worry about, it's the experience u should focus.' then they won't tell u a thing...
i know what u are driving at, but do u know that NOT EVERYONE HAS MONEY?!
does he know that if i'm given little to no internship allowance, i have to go get a part-time job?
my dad's pay dropped a near $600 last month, and this month his company is implementing more cost-cutting? their pay system is going to change, and it's estimated that my dad's salary is going to drop about 50%, to about $1200? my house is facing a big FINANCIAL CRISIS!
although there is a saying 吃得苦中苦, 方为人上人
but u know, i don't want to be a 人上人 that badly...

went for the UP Your Service course... one major issue--the duration was too long...
the 1st day was quite fun, we had games and the course leader was rather friendly and can relate and communicate to us ok...
the 2nd day, it was HORRIBLE! the course leader alone was annoying enough...
she just keep lecutring us, saying that we are not good, not responsive WHEN SHE IS THE ONE AT FAULT?!
and she keep saying 'i'm not trying to brag that i travel alot... ...', 'when i go travelling with friends, they take jetstar and i take SQ 'cause i just can't stand taking budget airlines... ...', 'i think that since i already spent so much for the air ticket already, what's USD $50 more to upgrade to business class, though the flight is just 1 hour... ...' ETC ETC. the course became something like her lifestory?
please, write a book if u have that much to tell, and if no publisher wants to publish that 'cause there's no selling point, pay them to publish since u have that much money!

got the internship results! damn! i didn't get the cathay pacific one... got BCMI!

zzz... and great, the location is somewhere between outram park and tiong baruh MRT station... i live in tampines and u post me to somewhere SO FAR! AND WHEN I'M NOT GOOD WITH DIRECTIONS! i would love it if u just post me at airport! u know the difference in the travel fare and travelling time?!

then to marina square eat at kenny rogers... and there we have so much fun replying the stupid bamboo... but in the end she didn't receive the messages... lousy hp...
at night, cursing someone so much, and that irritating chu made the whole conversation so funny! LOLLLL... i nearly woke up sister up with my constant laughter...

early in the morning, like 6++am, woke up and went to the toilet (it's in the kitchen)... when i was about to close the toilet door, i saw A COCKROACH! damn!
after using the toilet and washing my hands, i gathered courage, opened the door, looked out, confirmed no cockroach in route to take. then RUN! reached the entrance of kitchen, turn off the kitchen lights, thought danger zone cleared...
half-relaxed, made my way back to my room.. took 2 steps, and saw ANOTHER COCKROACH, and it ran across just right in front of me! i SCREAMED!!! my whole family woke up! dad and mum came out of their room and i shouted 'cockroach!' and jumped onto the sofa. then my brother and sister opened their room doors, knew the situation and scolded me crazy and closed the door again...
my dad caught the cockroach with his bare hands and threw it down the dustbin... HE DIDN'T KILL IT! it will just crawl back up the dustbin again... zzz
stupid cockroaches are always coming into my house from the dustbin! told my mum to change the opening to those tight and shut ones, but she tell me to discuss it with my dad... T_T

wow, so nervous that i woke up at about 8.30am... zzz... went to read the websites again...
the see the tips i got again... after that get dressed up, put nail polish, put on make-up, tidy my hair a little with hair spray and all... then off i go!!!
ok, was a little nervous at the beginning but it gets better as the interview goes along... the interviewer made me more relaxed, probably 'cause of the way he sat... he was rocking the chair... HAHA!
there was a group interview first, where there are 4 interviewers in the room... then individual interview with 2 interviewers... then as we were about to leave, the interviewer called me and jordon back for a little chat again... was asked if i mind taking cabin crew and ops... said i am fine with it, though if possible, i still want the cargo one... then chatted about internship stuff and T3 trials, etc...
contradicted myself in the interview, bravo! best thing to do in the interview... then they asked if i know how to use microsoft excel, and i said 'no'...

so nervous about tomorrow's interview~~~ so much to prepare...
but chu helped me alot! she gave me alot of tips on what should i do and what not... and she lent me her sheet of common interview questions~~~ LOVES CHU!!! she's always the saviour!
and nat researched and gave me some examples and tips too~~~ thanks! *kiss*
unlike someone who gave me a dressing down for doing things last minute *stares*
