26 FEBRUARY
another sad news. i skipped windsurfing session today to catch-up with my studies. i know it's so not me to forgo the sea and sun for books, but the fear is really too overbearing...
i've been feeling very miserable the entire day because i missed the session. although i suck at it, it's my way of de-stressing. those of u who don't understand its significance, just shut up and go away.
25 FEBRUARY
sorry, i've been feeling very cranky recently. so if i've lost my cool at any of u, i apologise.
THANK YOU LEWIS AND NAT FOR SAVING MY LAPTOP, MY WORK AND MY DAY! I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF U DIDN'T FIX MY LAPTOP! and lewis is totally awesome with computers! i am totally amused when he was fixing it. what came as another surprise is that lewis takes much much more initiatives now as compared to when i first met him...
22 FEBRUARY
went to work for the first time and i am already bored to death. i stood in front of the photocopy machine the entire time to scan and photocopy stuff. omg, i was told to photocopy the WHOLE BOOK! tell me about copyrights again?
anyway, i had to bend the book as i photocopy. poor book was all rugged after i was done with it :( i felt so sorry. although i do not like to read, i treasure books. i always try to preserve books at my best because i just don't feel right doing nasty things to them.
seriously, everything always looks nice on the outside, but fail on the inside. same for the HSS building. i was photocopying at the 3rd floor for my course lecturers. and guess what, the Chinese division, linguistics division and another division shared the 3rd floor, but there is only ONE photocopier?! talk about pathetic. i hogged the machine, so everyone else who wanted to use just has to, go away? LOLLL
21 FEBRUARY
O-M-G! right in the morning and u have to do this to me! but i guess thanks to u i am wide awake for the whole day?
i got up at about 5.30am to do some work. took a bath and went down to the lounge with my laptop and breakfast. went back to my room at 8.30am, only to find grace sitting naked on her bed, with only the blanket to cover herself from chest below. she stared at me, just as shocked as i was. i went 'what are u doing?' and she was skyping her bf. and she was telling me she's got it covered with the blanket, so it's nothing. omg, who are u kidding that u are not doing something weird in the room! i am not ignorant. please, hang a panties outside or put a sign so i wouldn't interrupt your little intimate session the next time.
ok, so she closed her laptop lid and went to put on her clothes immediately. i think her bf must be cursing me for spoiling their fun.
yeah, so it's monday, the long day for me. after lessons at 7.30pm, i went to have dinner in the canteen at my hall and then took a bath and went to the study room to study. this is the first time i am revising. i am feeling scared now, there seems to be insufficient time. the projects are piling up and there's still work from post-competition. tests are coming!!! omg!!! i want to cry! and the fact that i've gotten a part-time job now is making things worse. god, just let me survive this semester and get good grades!
ok, so before i left my room for the study room, i told grace 'u can continue with what u guys were doing this morning. enjoy :D
20 FEBRUARY
everyone agreed this is no windsurfing competition, it's pumping competition. the whole day everyone was pumping. and the so unskilled me failed miserably. in 1 race, i was taking ages to reach the finishing line when all others were there since forever. once i crossed the line, everyone clapped their hands. can u see how embarrassed i was? nonetheless, i still made it. i guess this competition was really a good experience.
everyone got back to shore for lunch, and after donkey years i still couldn't get back. this time, ashraf had to kayak out to get me. i kayak back to shore again. jeremy wanted to kayak out to return the kayak to the user since we borrowed it, but he realised ashraf was stuck out in the sea. so he kayak out and pulled ashraf back. oh my god, what have i done?!
for the 2 other races today, i didn't complete them. i failed to round a mark on the 2nd race and didn't even round the first before i head to the motor boat at the finishing line. i grabbed on to the rope on the motor boat like all others. Before long, u see every competitors holding on to the boat, both directly and indirectly. from far, i guess we looked like a floating platform. LOLLL!!!

passing drinking water was fun too! we were tossing water bottles into the air and shouting 'catch it!' when we did. but many missed and the bottles sank. then we realised we have to open to seal and let air in so the bottle would float even if we missed, and they could swim to the bottle. HAHA! passing empty bottles back to the motor boat was just as crazy. many empty bottles failed to reach the motor boat, so this time they filled a little sea water in the bottles and start throwing them all towards the motor boat. HAHA!
the seniors were all very hype up during the race, especially the NUS one. he was shouting 'pump pump pump pump!!!' throughout the whole race even though he was panting!!! and then when a starboard and port came together, they would shouting 'starboard starboard!!!' because i think starboard has the right of way. LOLLL!
then at the end of the day when everyone got back to shore, i still couldn't!!! T_T i was rescued by the motor boat again!!!
oh, did i mention, khai wan came up to me and said 'eh, ‘你好像全部都最后一个 hor’ omg, what encouragement! when he learnt i kayak back to shore just now, he was laughing again... hello, very entertaining huh?!
well, but i guess each has his embarrassing moments. my NTU seniors were all talking about the past competitions and they were laughing at khai wan! HAHAHAH!!! he seems like a sotong! i heard 3 years ago he took the wrong sail size, and NUS protested and complained and he was robbed off his 2nd place, actually, he was disqualified. then yesterday he took the wrong board. OMG, epic! despite so, he's very skilled in windsurfing... he got 2nd place for his category.
all was fun today, except that i had to go back to hall at night :(
i'm pretty glad i joined and that i was part of the committee to help in this event. this is the first time i've seriously done sports and the first time i've helped out. it gave me a sense of satisfaction and i'm loving it XD
19 FEBRUARY
my first windsurfing competition and u should know how nervous i was. my heart was pounding like nuts. but then, it's also my first at such competition. it is an inter-tiertiary competition. however, the competitors are all like friends, chatting with each other, etc.
waited till nearly 12pm before the signal for the first race sounded. went out to sea, was so slow and unstable. khai wan was sailing from behind me and shouting 'why are your legs so wide apart, move them closer!' and he went with the wind...
1st race: i was the last.
then was lunch time. saw khai wan back in PA, and he was asking how was the race. all i did was smile and laugh. what do u expect me to say, i am so embarrassed i don't know how to string thoughts into words.
then was slacking at the beach, waiting for the signal to come. it took ages...
2nd race: i didn't make it to the starting line in time after the horn sounded. i was put as Did Not Start (DNS). failed
there was NO wind at all for the 2nd race and i couldn't move. i tried pumping, but my board was spinning like crazy. i don't know how to do that -.- i was trying to follow the seniors, but the cluster of them gave up halfway through the competition and swam back to shore. so i followed too since i was near shore. even if i manage to pump all the way to the finishing line, i had to pump back to shore after that. it is madness.
18 FEBRUARY
frolick director was interested in sponsoring the windsurfing competition but only replied me today. hello, the competition is tomorrow, u are too 'early'! -.-
17 FEBRUARY
it's Thursday, my day should start late since lessons are from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, i should have a short day. but it's totally wrong!
woke up early in the morning to go for 'interview' in school and i've gotten a job. working 5.5 hours a week, $7/hr.
then i left school for habourfront to meet jonathan. he was going to fetch me from there to DKSH office at 34 Boon Leat Terrace to get the sponsored products. awww, he's so nice. he was asking if i was going from school or home, and i said from school. he asked if i have a direct transport there and i said no, i needed to take the train and then a bus. so he offered he could fetch me from habourfront station, whichever is convenient for me. of course i took his offer. bus is a killer for me, i tend to alight at the wrong stop somehow.
yeah, anyway, we got the items, and i decided this morning that i would skip lessons and attend training with them. so off to ECP we went!
oh, and i've gotten joanna and jade to get another sponsored item from bukit batok since they were coming from school too and joanna is driving. thank god they are truly nice people too :D
so, reach ECP at about 2pm and training starts. the wind is kind of strong for me to handle my sail but for jonathan, jade and aron, it was good. they were speeding off on the water and there i was, hardly able to uphaul. so i tried to follow but failed. seriously, my control, direction sense and stamina suck. i seriously need training.
time to leave, and i couldn't get back to shore no matter how many tacks and jibe i did, and i was taking too long that jonathan had to kayak out to save me. we exchanged equipment and we both got back soon after.
then was dinner at old airport road hawker centre before jonathan dropped us at kallang mrt station. both jade and i headed back to school while aron went home at clementi.
the night was far from over. i had to meet jiani at 9.30pm to go to Hall 9's fiesta. so we snacked, played around at the booths, melissa was with us too :D
left the place at 10.45pm, wanting to catch the last Bus C but the last bus was nonsense, it would only serve the route up to Hall 1!!! god is playing a prank on me, with my bruised leg, aching back and blister-ful hands, i walked back to my Hall. this is hardcore. i didn't even understand what i was trying to achieve today.
10 FEBRUARY
my windsurfing president just INFORMED me that i'll be taking part in the competition taking place in the following weekend! OMFG! WHAT IS THIS?!
now if i haven't updated u guys on my progress... during the last joint training session with NUS and a coach, i knocked into the coach and NUS players. 1 or 2 of the players fell off their boards. then during the whole training i was blocking their way and they had to make a round about me. and people completed 7 rounds, i completed 1!!!
the upcoming competition will have players from the 4 universities in Singapore--NTU, NUS, SMU, SIM. omg, i will be infamous after that competition?! i am quitting windsurfing soon...
7 FEBRUARY
making weird sounds is our homework! oh god, how do i do that?! why everyone can but i can't :(
my first translation lesson. HAHA! it's fun and the lecturer is a total joker! i love her XD
4 FEBRUARY
my family and i were on our way to visit one of our relative. and my dad was saying that she is a vegetarian, so if i wanna stay with her, the meals will all be vegetarian food :x
the relative is always very hospitable. she would keep telling us to help ourselves with the new year goodies. so the first goodie she opened up for us to eat is bak kwa! and i looked at my brother and told him 'Is this vegetarian bak kwa? can u try it first and tell me?' HAHAHA! ok, and he told me it tasted like real meat, but i am still doubtful, so i got my dad to ask the relative. and she said it's meat, it was a gift from her relatives or friends, whichever i can't remember... HAHA! what good relative/friend?! give her something she can't take? LOLLL!
we also visited my dad's friend. we do that every year.
don't u think it's weird? we visited them in the afternoon, and on this same day, THEY CAME TO VISIT US AT NIGHT?! -.- seeing the same family twice in a day...
seriously, i don't really like them. their whole family is all about getting prestige, money and status. when they first heard i went to polytechnic, the mother had to comment JC is better, can make it to university, and boosting about her eldest daughter studying in NTU. then when her son went to JC too, she had to brag again. and so when he made it to NUS. then was about getting a good paying job and high status. she was like 'huh, linguistics? oh, my daughter is now working at xxx. my son's girlfriend is studying pharmaceutical.' HELLO, DID I ASK FOR YOUR FAMILY YEARLY STATUS REPORT?! this is so annoying...
this year, my brother chose to study in polytechnic and the mother went 'oh, u are not going to university lah?' i guess perhaps my dad has had enough too and said '她(pointing to me)也是从poly 毕业的, 现在也上大学了。' seriously, i don't understand how attending university is a tool for showing off!
oh did i mention how my dad's friend and his NTU-GRADUATE daughter greeted me when we visited them in the afternoon??? the uncle was like ‘哎呀! 长那么高啦!’ and the daughter went 'yeah, u are taller than me already!' this thought went through my head 'OMG! IT'S BEEN 9 YEARS SINCE THE ONSET OF MY PUBERTY! IT WOULD BE SO SCARY IF I AM STILL GROWING NOTICEABLY TALLER NOW! and I'VE ALWAYS BEEN TALLER THAN U! WE SEE EACH OTHER YEARLY! CLEARLY THE NEW YEAR VISITINGS WERE POINTLESS?!'
3 FEBRUARY
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!
This is the first time I seriously celebrated the new year. in the past years, i was buried under the stack of homework all the annoying teachers/lecturers bestow us with. Oh well, this year is quite good XD
the school semester barely started, i guess that's why i am still so free :p
